We have eliminated a lot of the overhead many companies have such as corporate offices and large warehouses or distribution centers. We use technology to enable our talented teams to work remotely, saving us the expense of offices, and we ship our product from factories directly to Amazon warehouses eliminating the need for us to maintain a warehouse. We take smaller margins so we can be more generous with the people making our clothes, all the while making quality clothes using organically grown cotton affordable to more people.
We are currently producing in China, India, and Indonesia and are committed to helping improve the lives of the women and men sewing our clothes. We are also in discussions with American factories to help bring some of our production back to the U.S.
Our vision for Hope & Henry is to price our products fairly and at the best possible value rather than playing pricing games. We want our customers to know they are getting the highest possible quality at the best possible price every day so they don’t have to wait for a promotion or markdown.
We are a small startup, and like most startups we don’t anticipate making a profit in the first few years. However, we have reserved a portion of our startup investment to go directly to the women and men sewing our clothes in the form of a bonus. In January 2018, we took our first step by sharing small cash bonuses with two of the factories who we work with. As we grow, so will our ability to give back so that we can help to reduce poverty in this industry.
